An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager to join the team in this well established and fast-growing leading façade contractor.
Alumet is able to offer design, manufacture and installation services for the complete building envelope, including aftercare and maintenance. We are one of the most respected specialist contractors in the UK, working with a broad range of blue-chip contractors and clients in the UK.
This is initially a 6-month fixed term contract based on site at Hinkley Point C.

What will you be doing?
- Taking the site lead role on Hinkley Point.
- Complying with the company requirement to maintain a Site Diary.
- Material call offs (to specification and schedule).
- Updating site records (daily/weekly) ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
- Liaising with Buying/production department about stock/delivery problems.
- Securing and filing of delivery tickets for reconciliation/sign off purposes.
- Understand drawings and key materials used on site.
- Delivery of site-based Toolbox Talks to operatives and sub-contractors.
- Ensuring operatives are properly inducted and that the correct documents are collated and filed including ensuring the training matrix is updated in a timely manner.
- Controlling and allocating site labour, plant, materials and PPE.
- Programming and planning of works.
- Plant ordering and checking deliveries of Plant.
- Routine plant checks – collation of regular inspection sheets.
- Dealing with basic project specific paperwork – ITP, NCR, RFI, VO, SQP etc contract specific, JCT/NEC.
- Undertaking quality checks to ensure works are as detailed and at quality/workmanship required.
- Liaising with the Client to ensure access to required work areas as master programmed. Prepare and maintain look-a-head programmes.
- Liaising with Suppliers to ensure deliveries are scheduled correctly in accordance with Alumet & project requirements.
- Liaising with sub-contractors.
- Resource management – assess requirements against look-ahead programmes and utilise those available or reallocate as required.
- Managing material reconciliation and review against schedules/required to ensure workflow is not interrupted.
- Assisting the Commercial Team with verification of S/C applications for the production of the wages.
- Supporting the Health and Safety Manager on site; rigorously following safe systems of work and relevant procedures.
- Ensuring that all necessary checks and forms are completed prior to any work being undertaken.
- Ensuring all elements of the project are delivered within budget and time constraints.
- Any absences from site are to be communicated to the Project Manager/Project Lead so that temporary cover can be arranged if required and any actions noted.
- Managing own workload in conjunction with the Project Manager/Project Lead.
- Contractual administration, correspondence and ensuring accurate and detailed site records are in place and completed.
- Attending required on site meetings.
What we’d like from you
- Excellent knowledge of NEC Contracts and Administration.
- HND or Degree in Construction Management preferred or NVQ Level 6 in Site Management or Construction Contracting Operations.
- Valid site qualifications including current CSCS card and SMSTS.
- High level of facade experience including curtain walling, cladding and windows and doors.
- Presentable with the ability to gain trust and respect.
- High degree of initiative.
- High level of leadership and management skills.
- Technical experience and knowledge advantageous.
- Commercial and financial ability.
