An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Site Technician to join the team in this well established and fast-growing leading façade contractor.
Alumet is able to offer design, manufacture and installation services for the complete building envelope, including aftercare and maintenance. We are one of the most respected specialist contractors in the UK, working with a broad range of blue-chip contractors and clients in the UK.
This is initially a 6-month fixed term contract based on site in Canary Wharf, London.

What will you be doing?
- Responsible for ensuring that Alumet’s site services and activities meet and maintain set standards, enabling a successful delivery of the project in terms of quality control.
- Projecting a quality culture to all site personnel.
- Ensuring procedures are properly understood, carried out and audited.
- Championing a ‘Right First Time’ culture throughout the Company.
- Carrying out regular inspections and keep detailed records as evidence that work is of the highest possible quality utilising Fieldview and Dome.
- Being pro-active in the identification and resolution of problems, informing Site Management of any non-conformities observed.
- Monitoring the progress of corrective actions and confirm the action taken to close the NCRs to the management team.
- Supporting Site Management if necessary with the preparation of site procedures, activity plans and assurance records to ensure that staff have comprehensive and complete records for work carried out.
- Contributing to project reporting in terms of QA/QC activities.
- Ensuring that required certificates are available and valid.
- Developing strong professional relationships with the site team and other relevant personnel.
- Keeping the Site Management informed of all site related activities.
- Supporting the Site Management as necessary with other site activities.
- Managing own workload.
What we’d like from you
- Excellent knowledge and experience of Quality processes in relation to site activities.
- Sufficient experience in a similar role, including good knowledge of rainscreen cladding and curtain wall installation.
- Relevant NVQ in Construction.
- Current CSCS (black or gold) card, SMSTS or SSSTS card.
- Familiar with RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action).
- Knowledge and previous usage of QA software, eg Fieldview.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Highly presentable with the ability to gain trust and respect.
- High degree of initiative.
- Self-motivated.
- Good IT skills – proficient in the application and use of information technology.
- Be methodical, logical and detail oriented.
- Be professional, customer friendly, amenable and a team player.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good eye for detail and ability to critique standards to ensure high quality finish.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
