In July 2009 Alumet held a ceremony for the presentation of The Queen's Award for Enterprise. It was the second time in 5 years that the company had received this prestigious accolade and the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire Mr. Martin Dunne duly came along to carry out the presentation.
The presentation ceremony also coincided with the company's annual open-day and several local dignitaries were in attendance including The High Sheriff of Warwickshire, The Chair of Warwickshire County Council, The Chair of Warwick District Council, The Chairman of Stratford-On-Avon District Council and The Deputy Mayor of Southam.
The award was in the Innovation category and recognised Alumet's pioneering work in façade development, particularly with the ABLE Façade System - a revolutionary bomb-blast resistant off-site constructed glazed walling system (Click here for details).
Alumet Director Dean Walton said "We are extremely proud to receive a second Queen's Award, in 2004 the award launched Alumet into the Premier league in the full façade market. During this current recession we sincerely hope that this latest Queen's Award will provide the platform to secure additional orders and eventually create more jobs in the local area"
Two of Alumet's Directors were recently invited to Buckingham Palace for a Queen's Award reception. Paul Summers and Damien Bradley were formally introduced to both The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.
