Alumet help to reward unsung citizens in the community

25th April 2012

The recent Citizen of the Year Awards took place at the Town Hall in Leamington Spa and recognised local unsung citizens who had worked tirelessly to brighten up the lives of people in the community. The proud award winners on the night were Leah Brassington (Young Citizen of the Year) and Margaret Kite (Citizen of the Year).

Throughout the ceremony money was raised for three charities. In total, the project raised £1598.60 which was split equally between the Brakes Trust, Warwickshire Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and Warwickshire Young Carers' Project.

Alumet were eager to show support and provide funds by being the lead sponsor of the event. Dean Walton of Alumet commented "We were honoured to support the CotY awards as we feel it's essential to recognise those people who have selflessly gone the extra mile to improve the community. Leah and Margaret are an inspiration to us all."
