Yet more success for Alumet at the recent Construction News Quality Awards. In front of a packed audience at The Park Plaza, Westminster, the Southam based company collected the Supply Partner Award from BBC newsreader Huw Edwards and were also named as finalists in the Business Growth and Health & Safety categories.
It has been an incredibly successful year so far for the specialist facade contractor, with this award adding to a number of accolades. This is the company's first ever Supply Partner trophy and Director Dean Walton attributes this to the company's recent drive to improve its procedures and ensure 'best practice'. "We're delighted to receive this coveted award. We have significantly invested in our supply chain over the last year and have launched a 'Target Zero Defects' policy, which utilises dedicated staff, regular communication and effective procedures to ensure that all of our projects are completed on time, on budget and to a high level of quality."
Alumet's progress has been validated with numerous accreditations in 2010 including ISO 14001, Safe Contractor, Contractor Plus, CHAS and Achilles. These standards play a large part in improving supply chain relationships, as Dean explains "It wasn't easy to achieve our recent accreditations - they all involve detailed audits of the company - but our hard work has paid off. The accreditation set a benchmark which our supply chain partners use to evaluate our performance. As a result our progress has opened doors to numerous companies including the likes of Willmott Dixon, Bovis, Mace Plus, SDC and Interserve". Alumet already have partnering agreements in place with BAM Construction (Category 1), Taylor Woodrow / Vinci (GOLD status) and preferred contractor status with the likes of Miller Construction and the Kier Group.
