Alumet achieve ISO 14001 environmental accreditation

15th June 2010

In June 2010 Alumet achieved ISO 14001 environmental accreditation for the first time. In order to achieve this prestigious benchmark the company undertook a comprehensive audit.

The company was analysed on areas including utilities usage, recycling rate, raw material use and carbon dioxide emissions.

The auditor congratulated Alumet for actively committing to reducing its dependence on fossil fuels, increasing its recycling rate and making the business more efficient as a whole.

Alumet aims to reduce its C02 emissions by 8% year on year. Recent developments include installing additional insulation, roof lights and renewable technologies to power its production facilities.
