Recycling

Alumet maintains a pro-active approach to sustainability and strives to do whatever possible to reduce the company's carbon footprint. This includes recycling all waste metal, paper and card from the office and factory.

Deforestation

Alumet offers a range of timber cladding options, including oak, western red cedar and larch. Alumet ensures that all timber used is FSC certified, meaning that it is sourced from a well managed forest and does not contribute to deforestation.

Accreditation

Over the next twelve months Alumet is progressing towards ISO 14001 accreditation, which will set standards for sustainability issues including reducing consumption and waste. To couple this, Alumet is also aiming to use as many suppliers as possible who are ISO 14001 certified.

Facilities

Alumet has recently developed its factory facilities to be more environmentally efficient. A new gas heating system has been installed with a very impressive heat efficiency of 91.4%.

To save unnecessary heat loss the factory walls and ceiling have also recently been insulated with high specification Kingspan panels.

Cycle to Work

To reduce carbon emissions a "cycle to work" scheme has been introduced whereby the company contributes towards bicycles for members of staff who wish to cycle to the office.

Staying local

A company apartment is available near Alumet's main facilities providing a home-from-home for visiting contracts managers and site based staff.
