Job Description
Purpose of job/basic function:
Responsible for preparing and issuing tender quotation and bills
Main Activities/Responsibilities:

Reading all specification documents and drawings (Architects and Engineers)

Follow up quotations when required by Estimating Manager

Obtain costs for raw materials and Sub-Contract bought out items
Other Responsibilities:
-
Respond to all phone calls, e-mails and other communications, from clients, suppliers and Alumet senior management team

Attend meetings off-site when requested with Commercial team from Alumet
-
Amend when required, original quotation and bills in line with changed instructions by both clients and Alumet senior management team

Obtain samples when requested by clients and Alumet senior management team

When contract is secured, issue handover documents and attend both external client meetings, raw material suppliers, bought in subcontract work and internal alumet meetings, under the request of the Commercial Manager or Estimating Manager

Any other duties relevant to the role or as determined by the Manager
Training & Development:
Attend any internal/external training courses relevant to the role or as required by the Company
Targets:
To achieve estimates of £40M a year and order intake of approx £4M per year
Requirements
Knowledge & Experience:
-
National certificate in Construction and Civil Engineering
-
Minimum of two years Estimating in the external facade market or
-
Minimum of three years of estimating in the commercial construction industry

Technical understanding of glass, windows, doors and aluminium curtain walling
IT Skills:
-
Word (word processing), Excel (spreadsheets), Power Point (presentations)
-
Project planning
-
Publisher (Desk Top Publishing)
-
Schucal (Schuco Windows and Curtain walling), or Technal, Reynaers, SAPA and other systems
-
Causeway (construction industry estimating software), or other construction estimating software
-
Other IT Skills for Outlook (e-Mails), Firefox / Internet explorer (web browser) and PDF primo (PDF Creator)
- IT Skill Bonus would be AutoCAD
